The City of New Orleans, and NORDC have officially voted to designate, “The Peach Orchard,” an official skate park. Phase 1 will begin once NORD Foundation has raised $150,000, to be spent on professional build services. Spohn Ranch will donate professional design services to the city of New Orleans. Phase 1 is projected to be completed summer 2013, and will consist of precast concrete from the, “Mississippi Grind,” skate barge, additional pour in place concrete, and existing concrete surface remediation.

Clean up YOUR Park

Want to be involved in the Parisite DIY skate park, and other things larger like creating a framework for skate parks across the city? Come out Saturday, Dec 2nd @ Noon(3350 Paris Ave). Bring work gloves, brooms, trash bags, shovels, rakes, etc and help us cleanse the space, and we can take it from there! We’re actively seeking out people to get involved in their own personal ways. What are you good at, and how can you use those skills to assist in improving skateboarding infrastructure throughout New Orleans?

I see the light!

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the City of New Orleans, and the HUMANS that make up it’s government for doing something HUGE for skateboarding. This is the Olive Branch! Call someone, and say thanks, go hug the mayor, and tell him why, make NORD a cake, chest bump the electricians, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come work with us, learn some skills, or flex the ones you already have! We start at 9am, and go until we’re done.
